I have sat in one of these chairs, and they are surprisingly comfy. I love me some ironwood. It's a beautiful, deep, hard wood. I love ironwood bead necklaces, I love the carved ironwood seashell that a friend found at a flea market for $15, but this is a log. I don't even have a problem with anyone using a log as a seat or as a side table. But if you're going to do that-go out to the freakin' wood pile and grab a log.
Now that stupid log is not to be confused with real woodworking.

The Founding Principles

The problem is that when it comes to art, antiques, and home furnishings, otherwise intelligent people often play huge gobs of money for total crap. The world is full of wonderful pieces that are left neglected on the sidelines while crappy pieces with the best marketing or those in the right place at the right time are purchased for ridiculous sums of money. The purpose of this blog is to separate the truly beautiful pieces, the true art, the true craft, the truely (and often unappreciated and under priced) wonderful objects from the smoke and mirrors.
